Friday the 19th

Yesterday, there was Art.
Thanks to Wang we had to stop doing our mosaic 'cause we didn't have time. And we spent about three weeks doing it. It's not as if our group was the only group which couldn't finish, it was the whole of the first half of the class. So who's fault should it be. Now we've wasted all our efforts. Thanks again, Wang. We ended up making paper. There was seriously a lack in resources. One blender, two tubs and one stack of (I bet leftover) construction paper. Does it look as if it's possible to create 108 pieces of new A4 paper for 18 students? Yes, it is possible. The colours of the construction papers are all so dull, and Wang said if we wanted brighter colours then we should go buy it from the bookshop ourselves. I thought she was gonna find for us or something. So we bought it. By the way, I should type about the process of making the new papers. It's interesting and fun but would have been better if we had more resources. We had to take turns to use the blender and only two groups out of four which had the tubs can make paper. So the rest just slacked around and tore pieces of construction paper, not to make more paper, but to vent our anger. Whatever. I'm still gonna post pictures one by one, unedited, till the day I get super professional with Photoshop then I'll merge photographs, add effects and all that.

First, we have to put the cut pieces of coloured paper into the blender with water.

And then we have to blend it. We cannot blend for more than five seconds, if we want to make the mixture smoother, we have to wait for the machine to settle before we blend again for another five seconds. We have to make sure the beaker or whatever you call it is firmly attached to the bottom thing and when we wash we cannot wet the blade at the bottom of the beaker. I remember the rules.

Put the mixture in the tub. (And we got our very home-made balachan)

Then we have to submerge the frame thing into the water, we have to slide it in from the side.

Take it out from the water straight, add whatever decorations and place it flat against the newspapers. Then use the pieces of cloth to absorb excess liquid.

When it's done, you take out the frame and the mixture sticks to the newspaper and you get your paper after it's dried!

Yeah I guess Art yesterday was depressing.
The other groups wanted to get some brighter-coloured contruction paper to mix with the old, ugly, dull, shit-like construction paper Wang provided. And so we were like '10 cents each'. Then Wang came over and stopped us, she said we shouldn't sell it for so much. Instead, we should sell it at 4 cents. We raised the price to 5 cents and Liza's group bought from us. It was meant to be a joke and all that so don't take it too seriously. I believe nobody's that poor to the extent that she can't even pay 5 cents for a piece of paper. A piece of A4 white paper with some ink also costs 5 cents at the photocopy shop. Moreover, it's construction paper. Yeah I bet some people got pissed at us 'cause we didn't want give them for free. Again, it was all just a joke and if you take it too seriously then just go away. We did give away a piece of blue construction paper which was lying forlornly on the chair with no owner :)

We had to pack up and our group was really fast we wiped the tables and swept the floor. We sat on our chairs and waited as Wang told us to. She kept picking on us, she asked us to wash the pieces of cloth, keep stuff, pick up pieces of paper on the floor and whatever shit. I think Wang hates us since the first lesson 'cause we insisted on having six people in our group. And when she found out that there were stapler bullets in the tub, she thought we were the ones who put them in. I mean in the blender. Tell me who's so fuckin' dumb to put them in it. Right, and when she asked who did it, she was kind of directing at us. 'Next time don't do it again arh.' is what she said. We didn't even do it.

Assembly, we had to sit at the back 'cause we're leaving early for lunch and then C.I.P at Serangoon Garden South Primary School. Yeah, I went to the toilet in the canteen for the first time in my life and it was really relatively huge with only a toilet bowl and a sink!

Reached the school and we helped facilitate the sort of Athletics event, I love packing Sunshine bread for the kids. Yeah, it was supposed to be me, Wai Ian and Shi Ying but then Elyssa and Joan came and requested for a swap 'cause Joan really couldn't take the heat and if she continued standing in the Sun, she'd faint of heat stroke and how would Elyssa explain to her parents? So the teacher asked Wai Ian and Shi Ying to go record the points instead. I think they were pissed wet.

The rest of the time was slacking and it was only towards the end of the event we had to give them the sticks for every round they ran. They were really fast! Pei Ying Primary School got 2nd for 9-10 year-olds and 3rd for 11-12 year-olds! Well, there was this Indian guy who was pressuring them. He told the 9-10 year-olds that if he saw any of them walking, they would get it from him. And they did 98 rounds altogether. Then he told the 11-12 year-olds that they should get even more rounds, like 110. If not '(they'll) get it in school on Monday'. Scary man. Anyway they got 108 or 107 rounds and were the champions for that event!

And after the Prize-giving Ceremony that Indian guy kept stealing Sunshine bread which was meant to be for the helpers until his plastic bag was like...very big. And while the other kids were all eating their packets of bread, the students from Pei Ying didn't even touch them.

Hahaha. I was totally tired. Went home and slept all the way from 7PM plus to 10AM today.
